Women Empowerment
Empowerment of women is the common denominator for positive development and growth of the immediate and extended family, the community, and in extension, our country and the world.
This core belief underlines DMC's values and our efforts to strengthen women's voices, especially women in distress due to socio-economic or familial injustices.
Ongoing efforts
- Online counseling and emotional support for women adversely affected by COVID-19.
- Online sessions in regional languages to create awareness on proper mask usage and safe disposal for people from marginalized groups.
Achievements
- Capacity building for widows that suffered losses during Delhi Riots.
- In association with Nazareth Charitable Trust and World Malayalee Federation, financed housing security for Biji Mol, a single mother who underwent immense trauma and financial loss at the beginning of the COVID-19.
- Financial and social support for marriage of 5+ young women without parents.
- Counseling and mental health support for 100+ women affected during and post-Delhi and Ghaziabad riots.
- Distributed toiletries and sanitary essentials in rural areas for 100+ adolescent girls and women.
